WTF?
:: Xinhuanet - English: Sovereignty formally transferred to Iraqi interim gov't ::
The coalition authorities formally transferred power to the Iraqi interim government on Monday, two days ahead of the scheduled June 30 in a bid to thwart escalating guerrilla attacks.
I would have been just as happy to occupy them for the next 10 years. What is our official legal standing in Iraq now?

Ehhh... you may want to check that headline if you didn't copy it verbatim from the article. It appears to be saying something quite different.

Well, I did copy verbatim, but does the colon help?

Yes, I think the Queen and Chucky will be most relieved.

hahahaha, oh that's a good one, John! :)
Actually, I'm not sure what legal implications this has for us. I was surprised to learn we'd handed things over earlier than planned -- but I think it may have thwarted some very large plans for terrorist attacks in Iraq over the next two days. Not that this will stop anything, but it will certainly steal the show if last minute acts of defiance were slated. Now, it's too late for that.
(hey Andrew...will you come back to my blog and tell me more about the moon disappearing?)
