I’ve been wondering about this.

How to use liposuction to repair Adobe Reader 6

Like (I’m sure) most people, I’ve long marveled at how bloated .PDF (adobe) files are. I actively avoid them, and try very hard to look at every link I click just to ensure that I’m not accidentally opening one of those things...

Simply put, when I click a .PDF, it takes all of my system’s (considerable) resources over a minute to load the damned thing. I stumbled upon this article from the Inquirer, though, and followed its instructions. Now .PDF files take about 15 seconds to load...

wow, it takes that much to load them on your comp? i've never had that problem with this computer, although on the family computer it certainly takes a while.

Sadly, in order to update the website I administer at work, my higher-ups insist that I save every piece of downloadable info as a PDF, to prevent others from editing it. It is very slow, and I know it probably bugs the hell out of "readers like you",but that's govt. for ya.
