Time is the fire in which we burn
Would the United States be better off with only one time zone? - By Tim Harford - Slate Magazine
My annual inner monologue suggests two reasons to get up in the morning and go to bed at night: first, to enjoy the sunshine, and second, because that is what everybody else does. But what if the two imperatives collide? What matters more, waking up at the same time as everyone else or waking up with the sun?
Just a simple exploration of an interesting subject...

The only people this would benefit would be businesses with branches on the coasts. It would be downright evil for the coasts and for Hawaii, since people would have their rhythms stomped on.
What a crappy idea!

"Push the television schedules an hour later and 5 percent of people will be watching television later—nearly a third of those actually watching the television."
Whenever I think of the lumbering masses, I include television in my definition somewhere. I'm surprised by the small amout of people who watch TV - at least in Arizona. (I recognize, though, that this 5% may be on one day, in which not every one who watches TV will be doing it simaltaneously.)
I think there could be a better analysis to these findings. Rather, why do we continue to perpetuate day light savings? If it's been statistically suggested that we wake for human interaction rather than nature, why do we continue a time standard begun for farming advantage?
